The Watergate Scandal did not provide the country with much trust and hope. The president who had just won sixty-one percent of the popular vote was a liar, conspiracist, and a criminal, all of which the president should not be. It is great that the president and his accomplices were punished for their crimes, but it should not have happened in the first place. First of all, Richard Nixon had no need to cheat in this campaign, he had a weak opponent whom some of his own party did not support. Secondly, it is just plain immoral, not that that's stopped anyone before, and highly illegal. The scandal placed doubt in the mind's of every single person who voted for Nixon, and that doubt has been passed down through the generations and will not be forgotten.

This case was bad...M'kay?
